[web] PSDTUTS

I found this great new site called PSDTUTS the other night. Most Photoshop tutorial sites are bloating with cheesy effects or dated visual tricks. This is the first time in a long time I've found a Photoshop tutorial site that actually has re-sparked my fire to get back to doing design work. They even have other affiliate sites for Illustrator, music (which looks great so far!) and they just started an After Effects tutorial site.

I am definitely going to be glued to these guys for the next few months!

MORE TIME LAPSE: Rinpa

Rinpa is a Japanese crew of graffiti artists that do these great time lapse animations. This is my favorite by far:

I heard of Blu, the wall painting animator a while ago. I saw this video and was completely floored by the effort and the creativity.

For me the leap into seeing only these two videos was like witnessing Michael Angelo Batio being born and then a few months later, seeing this:

It's a comic. But it's a blog too!

So-Me at it again?

I'm sure you've seen this promo for the "Cross" album from Justice.

I ran across a curious bit on a message board I frequent and one of the posters realized that particular cross looks a bit similar to something.




and zooming out...

It looks a lot like the little cross on the bottom right of the Best Of Delirium album cover.! I mean, could be sheer coincidence but seeing as So-Me is an avid designer and after seeing the DVNO video, it's clear the man is a master of being a copycat without being TOO obvious.
